It started with a telegram from FSC founder Dr. Ludd Spivey to renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1938 requesting a meeting "concerning plans for (a) great education temple in Florida" which set in motion plans for the construction of one of the largest concentrations of Wright-designed buildings in the world.

A thorough overview of the history of the campus can be found here.

Los Angeles Union Station

The last of the great train stations, featuring moderne, art deco and Spanish revivial styles, serves thousands of bus, subway, commuter and long-haul rail passengers who would otherwise further clog the far-from-free-flowing freeway system.

The Capitol Tower

As inevitable as Hollywood itself, the Capitol (Records) Tower looms large over the corner of Hollywood and Vine.

Walt Disney Concert Hall Detail

When trying to take photos through a bus window, and capturing an entire edifice is impossible, try to catch details which capture the essence of what you're pointing at.

Or you could just be like me and shoot like crazy and hope that something worthwhile can be salvaged in the editing.

Vacation v.2007.1.1 - The Guild Inn

I'd never visited the failed Hotel /slash/ architectural graveyard known as the Guild Inn, and didn't quite know what to expect when I drove down the Guildwood Parkway. The first thing you notice is the generic City of Toronto sign at the entrance which resembles the sign on every City park. Yes, this is a park and yes, it is owned by the City, but this is a special place.

I won't be redundant and blab about the history of the site (That info can be found here: http://www.toronto.ca/culture/the_guild.htm ), but what I will say is that anyone with an interest in the history of Toronto's built form must make a visit to this place. Hopefully you can avoid the annoying wedding parties looking for backdrops.
