January Crystal Beach Afternoon

When visiting one of Ontario's most popular beaches in the dead of winter, you know what not to expect. Exposed flesh, for instance. One thing you may not expect, but are presented with in generous amounts, is ice. Lake Erie's ice shield stretches across to America, covered with the snow which makes Buffalo's southern suburbs especially susceptible to snarling snow showers. (Take THAT, Irv Weinstein!)

Humber Bay Park West

Behind Etobicoke's version of the "Wall of Condos", lies a beautiful piece of waterfront called Humber Bay Park West. Accessible from the foot of Park Lawn Road, this created-by-man, enjoyed-by-man-and-beast (and duckwatcher) area covers 120 hectares, none of which abut the actual Humber Bay.

The Sun Came Up Today

When you see a big ball of flame in the sky, you just shoot it. The ball looked particularly beautiful this morning, as seen from Col. Samuel Smith Park in Etobicoke, Ontario.

Uxbridge Snow

I don't know what it is that draws me to Uxbridge.  Perhaps it's the fact that it's just outside the Toronto calling area, beyond the Oak Ridges Moraine, and for now, beyond the clutches of the sprawl-inducing GO train.

Whatever the reason, it sure is beautiful in the wintertime. Enjoy.
